Yesterday in the QMJHL

St. John's 2-3 Prince Edward Island (SO)

Defenceman Marc-Andre Gragnani scored the only shootout goal in PEI's 3-2 win over the Fog Devils. PEI was highly inefficient, scoring only 2 goals on 42 shots, but they won anyway by dominating the play. St. John's continues to be pretty lousy.

Baie-Comeau 2-1 Chicoutimi (OT)

Exciting game from the Centre Georges-Vezina, my Drakkar notched the win with one minute remaining on a Joakim Jensen goal. The Drakkar celebrated Michaël Dupont's being named Defensive Player of the Week by putting Marco Cousineau in goal, where he stopped 29 of 30 shots, which is not bad. Cousineau is kind of a goofy looking fella, which is something I learned by sitting behind the Drakkar bench once and watching him quietly plot to take out Dupont to become the regular netminder.
For what it's worth, the Saguenéens won more than half their faceoffs and are still just a point back of Rouyn-Noranda for 7th place, which would allow them to avoid Val D'Or in the first round.

In the other CHL leagues:

Oshawa 13-3 Toronto St. Michael's

Oshawa went 6/7 on the power play, John Tavares scored his 62nd goal, Oshawa clinched a playoff spot, Oshawa got 27 shots in the 2nd period, Toronto will be moving after the season. Stephen Colbert Day in Oshawa is only a couple weeks away, though!

Calgary 4-3 Prince George

Everett 6-2 Spokane

Moose Jaw 5-1 Prince Albert
