Time for a bit of a Warriors fanboy post. I'm gonna call it A FEW AWESOME THINGS ABOUT THE WARRIORS-PACERS TRADE AND A FEW LAME THINGS ABOUT THE WARRIORS-PACERS TRADE.
A FEW AWESOME THINGS:
1)Sarunas Jasikevicius:
I'm a fan of Jasikevicius' game. I'm a fan of guys named Sarunas. More importantly I'm a fan of the fact that I think Sarunas(!) is exactly the type of player the Warriors have needed for a while. A role player who can actually shoot the three and serviceably back up Baron Davis (sorry Keith "Fox" McLeod, you weren't cuttin it). Admittedly though, I think I'm most a fan of having a Sarunas again.
A little duel Sarunas love.
2)Al Harrington and Stephen Jackson are not Mike Dunleavy and Troy Murphy:
Adding athletic guys who can run in a Nellieball system and perhaps increase their efficiency as a result are always welcome, especially when it comes with the exodus of two of the whitest of stiffs you'll ever watch. I know, they don't appear so bad in terms of PER or even rebounding/scoring/shooting. But they are, just trust me.
3)Mike Dunleavy is not a Warrior:
Just to, yknow, pound that in.
i hate you at duke.
i hate you at golden state.
i love you getting kicked in the face by ira newble.
4)As a result of this trade, tonight's lineup is absurd:
Baron Davis, Andris Biedrins, Matt Barnes, and Monta Ellis are the only remaining real Warriors tonight. NBDL duders Kelenna Azubuike, Renaldo Major, and Patrick O'Bryant are helping out here and there. Fittingly, right now the Warriors are down like 9. But that's okay because 3, yes 3, NBDL graduates are getting playing time tonight. And that's fun for everyone.
5)Al Harrington could always return to his last season form, or perhaps even reach new heights in Nellie's system, or maybe Stephen Jackson will crack and do something awesome:
I mean you never know.
6)Clears a little cap space.
A FEW LAME THINGS:
1)Ike Diogu:
:( :( :( :(
Ike's gonna be a good player. I don't think he ever would have flourished in Nellie's system, but he played well even when given the chance this year, and I was wrong to bemoan it when we drafted him originally.
u will b missed
2)Stephen Jackson isn't particularly great and is still expensive:
Not much more to add here, except that he's also probably clinically insane. Although I consider that latter part a mark in his favor.
That's pretty much it. Mike Dunleavy is no longer my problem. I feel whole again.
DING DONG THE DUNLEAVY IS GONE.

I wonder in what other situations Dunleavy makes that face...
