Johnny Damon wants to play video games with you

per rotoworld:

" Johnny Damon announced the formation of the Professional Baseball Video Game League and will serve as commissioner.
Yeah, it's not going to be long now before teams start insisting on a Guitar Hero clause in players contracts. The first season's roster also includes Corey Patterson and Rodrigo Lopez of the Orioles, Craig Hansen and Julian Tavarez of the Red Sox, Matt Holliday and Willy Taveras of the Rockies, Prince Fielder of the Brewers, Josh Barfield of the Indians, Derek Lowe of the Dodgers, Seth McClung of the Devil Rays, Mike Pelfrey of the Mets, Luke Hochevar of the Royals and Dallas McPherson of the Angels. "The league is bringing together two of my biggest passions -- baseball and video games -- in a way that neither baseball fans nor video gamers have seen before," Damon said in a statement. "

The original Chicago Tribune also reported that "Damon will serve as commissioner for the league's inaugural season, which kicks off this week with the first competitions on the league's chosen game, Microsoft's Project Gotham Racing 3 for Xbox 360."

lol johnny damon lieks 2 race fast carz vrooom vroooom projekt gotham vrooooooooooom

To be honest, I think this would be a lot more entertaining if this were with the Wii. Prince Fielder playing that track game where you have to simulate running would be worth the price of admission alone.

That said, I need to figure out how to get involved with this. Kicking Derek Lowe's ass in Halo for this:

(2003 ALDS, Game 5, I'm sure there's a YouTube cilp somewhere for you to enjoy)

(chris note: Actually, theres not. There are plenty of clips of Aaron Boone though!)

would be very satisfying indeed.
