Retro Links #1: It all started while writing something about knuckleballers..

Then I found out that Ben McGrath already did it for me - I may very well eventually do something about knuckleballers, as far as the actual ramifications of using them, but this article is a great view inside the life of a knuckleballer, and reminds us of the good times when Charlie Zink was a top prospect for some reason.

Fake Diamond Notes - Too soon?

OnHoops.com's reposted dissection of a trade that involves Dwayne Schintzius - I miss OnHoops.com, and I miss Larry Johnson's ugly mug saying stupid shit too. Also, lets talk about how this is probably the only time that this sentence was written: "Mercer is a future superstar, and the Nuggets have suddenly become a league powerhouse along with the Timberwolves, the Raptors and the Sacramento Kings."

Not really retro, but I feel the need to include it anyway:
ChadBradfordWannabe breaks down the delivery of Oliver Perez - This is to prove to everyone that I'm not just some numbers spouting nerd when it comes to sports. No really, this is a pretty great dissection of his mechanics.

Oh, and Konica Minolta Pioneers blew their big chance to win the Holland Series today, as Corendon Kinheim came back from a 5-2 deficit in the 5th to score 1 in the 6th and 3 in the 7th to send the series to a decisive game 5. Edward Illidge was probably the player of the game for Kinheim, going 3-5 with a run scored and 2 RBI. Erik Jan Lind blew the save for Pioneers, pitching 3 innings and allowing 5 hits and 2 ER.
